Target First Saturdays at the Brooklyn Museum.
This past Saturday I attended yet another amazing Frist Sat event. As Labor Day approaches which brings major Caribbean fever to the Tri State area , it was Caribbean night at the museum. There was an amazing musical showcase by a Cuban band, Los Hacheros. They blended unique instrumentals with classic son, charanga and salsa. Zing, perfomed a fusion of Haitian roots, reggae and rock.
Later in the evening cariBeing presented Ring Di Alarm, an anthology of seven shorts about modern-day Jamaica. Amazing!!!
There were curator talks, live panels, good food, drinks and lots of beautiful people.
And the best part, all free for 6 amazingly enlightening and enriching hours.
